Since its premiere in 1878, Gilbert and Sullivan’s wildly popular operetta H.M.S. Pinafore has delighted audiences with a nautically-tinged story of star-crossed lovers. The gentlemanly Captain Corcoran of the good ship Pinafore has a daughter, Josephine, who is in love with a lowly but gallant sailor named Ralph Rackstraw. The Captain forbids the marriage, wanting to match Josephine instead with the well-bred Sir Joseph, First Lord of the Admiralty. In the meantime, the Captain finds himself in nearly the same position as his daughter: his former nanny, Little Buttercup, falls in love with him, but he hesitates to reciprocate due to his higher social rank. The whole situation is turned on its head when Little Buttercup reveals a game-changing secret she has kept for decades. A rollicking farce with endearing characters, memorable tunes, and a hilariously happy ending, H.M.S Pinafore is a classic, time-tested delight not to be missed.

This show is a co-production by Royal City Musical Productions Inc (RCMPi) and Guelph Little Theatre.

This wild bedroom farce involves infidelity, mistaken identities, double standards, midnight rendezvous and even a hungry bear. It is said that a successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. In this fast paced farce nothing could be further from the truth. Bill and Mary, a couple about to celebrate their twenty ninth wedding anniversary are at odds: Mary yearns for a night of passion while Bill yearns to be left alone. To make matters more interesting, instead of a quiet weekend alone they have invited their two daughters to spend their anniversary with them. Hilarious hijinks ensue when the three couples collide in one weekend that none of them will ever forget.

Billy Van Zandt & Jane Milmore have been called the "masters of modern farce,” and bring us this side ripping comedy.

Good Night Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)

Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) is Ann-Marie MacDonald’s dazzlingly witty, hugely inventive love-letter to Shakespeare, feminism, scholarship, dogged sleuthing and the triumph of the underdog. This Governor-General's and Chalmers prize-winning comedy reveals what happens when "Othello” and "Romeo and Juliet” are rescued from tragedy. Of course MacDonald’s razor sharp mind is in every twist and turn in the layered story, and in every double and triple entendre. The story of the play is devilishly clever and you can tell she must have had a blast writing it.  Prior knowledge of Shakespeare is not necessary: this is a gender-bendy, big-hearted and crazily-intelligent romp, where irony and anger sing in harmony with innocence and poignancy. This production goes like the wind, winks at the audience and tweaks its cheeks, and sends them out into the night, smiling.
